Google Search is Dead. Long Live Google Search.

Google Search is Dead. Long Live Google Search.
Google Search is moving from submitting a query and receiving blue links to an AI-first experience that provides the most relevant answer. The new approach is agentic: after a query is submitted, AI analyzes the user’s intention and triggers relevant agents to help complete the task. For local restaurant searches, AI can select options aligned with user preferences and present the best possible choice. Agent-first search differs from conventional search by choosing the right result format for each question. It can build custom experiences for individual questions rather than using a single standard results layout.
"Google Search, as you know it, is over. Instead of a conventional “ submit search query and get a list of blue links, ” the company is moving towards an AI-first experience in which AI will offer you the most relevant answer to your question. This is by far the most radical change Google has has made since the company's founding."
"AI-powered search is an agentic experience. It means that the moment you submit the search query, AI will analyze your intention and trigger the relevant agent(s) that will help you. For example, if you're looking to find a restaurant in your local area, Google will trigger a search AI agent, and it will find the best possible option for you (aligned with your preferences)."
"Agent-first search experience has a few notable differences with conventional search experience: AI chooses the right format to present search results to users. “Search can build custom experiences just for your individual questions” (Google team)"
