Google AI Mode Adds More Links To Recipe Blogs
"We've heard feedback on recipe results in AI Mode, and we're making updates to better connect people with recipe creators on the web. Starting today, when you search for meal ideas like "easy dinners for two," you can tap on the dish to see links to relevant recipe sites, plus a short overview of the dish to help with inspiration."
"We know there's more work to be done on this, so stay tuned for future updates. By far, the highest priority needs to be removing full Frankenstein recipes as default on AI Mode and AI Overviews for recipe intent queries, especially branded queries."
Google announced updates to its AI Mode search feature to better connect users with recipe creators and websites. When searching for meal ideas like "easy dinners for two," users can now tap on dishes to see links to relevant recipe sites and short overviews for inspiration. The change responds to feedback from the recipe blogging industry. Google also plans to add helpful information like cook time to more recipe results. However, concerns remain about AI-generated "Frankenstein recipes" that combine ingredients from multiple sources, which some recipe creators argue still appear as defaults in AI Mode and AI Overviews for recipe searches.
