Intelligent coding at your fingertips: Introducing an agentic coding experience in your IDE | Amazon Web Services
Briefly

Amazon Q Developer has introduced an advanced agentic coding experience within its IDE that enhances coding workflows by supporting near real-time interactions through natural language. This new feature allows users to read and write files locally, execute bash commands, and build code more efficiently. In contrast to the traditional chat interface that aids in the planning phase, the agentic coding's direct interaction with the development environment enables users to implement requirements dynamically, scaffold projects, and track progress seamlessly. Currently available in VS Code, support for other IDEs is expected soon.
The new agentic coding experience in the Amazon Q Developer IDE integrates natural language understanding, enabling developers to write, modify, and interact with code in real-time.
Unlike the traditional chat that is good for planning, agentic coding allows Q Developer to directly execute actions in the development environment, enhancing the coding workflow significantly.
