Recent research from Chapman University shows that the skulls of breeds known for their fierce bites, such as XL Bullies and Pitbulls, reveal no significant structural advantages compared to other breeds. An analysis of 117 dog skulls indicated that there was nearly complete overlap in skull shape among various breeds, challenging the myth of enhanced bite strength in these dogs. While physical differences tied to functionality are absent, the behavioral implications of breeding may still render certain breeds more dangerous.
