The Dinosaur Choir is a groundbreaking musical instrument crafted by artists Courtney Brown and Cezary Gajewski, enabling musicians to simulate dinosaur vocalizations. Debuting at the 27th Guthman Competition, it was developed in collaboration with paleontologist Thomas Dudgeon and is based on a CT scan of a Corythosaurus skull. This unique instrument highlights new musical possibilities while allowing players to embody the ancient creature, combining geology with artistry and sparking curiosity about prehistoric life through sound.
This instrument allows musicians to recreate possible dinosaur vocalizations by blowing into a mouthpiece, connecting the human experience to the ancient past.
Using a CT scan of a fossilized skull, the creators restored the Corythosaurus structure, transforming ancient science into a unique musical instrument.
