The hidden underside of an iceberg: Laurent Ballesta's best photograph
Briefly

My exploration in photography emphasizes uncharted depths and the compelling creatures that dwell there. It's the mysterious that commands respect, more than mere beauty.
The oceans are filled with organisms and realms yet to be mapped or captured, and the challenge of reaching them often borders on the dangerous.
Becoming the first diver to photograph a living coelacanth in 2010 was a highlight, showcasing not only the thrill of discovery but the importance of conservation.
With my ongoing Gombessa project, I’ve documented extraordinary marine phenomena, like 700 sharks feeding beneath a full moon, highlighting the wonders and mysteries still persistent in our oceans.
