Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) was awarded a multi-billion-pound claim against Mike Lynch, whose estate may now be liable for damages following his death in a yacht disaster.
Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding Lynch's death, HPE affirmed its intention to continue pursuing a £3 billion damages claim linked to fraud allegations from 2011.
The High Court had previously ruled that HPE substantially succeeded in its civil fraud claims against Dr Lynch regarding inflated company revenues preceding the sale.
Dr Lynch had gathered on his yacht with friends and colleagues to celebrate his acquittal from a related criminal case just before the accident.
