Gillards originally planned for Anakin and Obi-Wan's fight to be significantly shorter, raising questions about whether that would have created a more impactful confrontation compared to the final cut.

Gillard noted that the choreography was designed to symbolize the deep connection and ultimate tragedy of the relationship between Anakin and Obi-Wan, transforming them from allies to foes.
