Dr. Steven Ross testified that the Titan sub experienced a 'platform issue' shortly before its fatal dive, which caused passengers to tumble and may have led to the implosion.
A physicist suggested a faulty connection between the carbon fiber hull and titanium ring could have initiated the catastrophic failure, leading to water ingress and ultimately the explosion.
Ross mentioned a passenger was hanging upside down and others wedged in the bow end cap during the malfunction, which was unknown until now.
Scott Manley analyzed footage from the wreck and theorized that if the sub's hull failure had started in the middle, debris would have been found both forward and rearward.
