Rare event': Canada records its first human bird flu case
Briefly

Health authorities in British Columbia are investigating a teenager's positive test for H5 avian flu, marking Canada's first confirmed human case of this virus.
"This is a rare event. We are conducting a thorough investigation to fully understand the source of exposure here in BC," said Health Officer Bonnie Henry.
Canada’s Health Minister Mark Holland reassured the public that, at present, the risk to them remains low amid the H5 avian flu case.
Bird flu has led to outbreaks in both wild birds and poultry across North America, and potential human transmission remains a concern for scientists.
