Shreenivasan Manievannan's time-lapse footage captures the stunning comet C/2023 A3, also known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, drifting over San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, revealing cosmic beauty against a city backdrop.
According to astronomer Gerald McKeegan, C/2023 A3 could be spotted with binoculars around sunset starting October 12, but will fade in brightness as it moves away from Earth.
The comet, originating from the Oort Cloud, first observed in January 2023, has the potential to shine brightly similar to the Neowise comet seen in 2020.
With perfect weather conditions aiding visibility, this phenomenon gives Californians a unique opportunity to engage with the cosmos, possibly witnessing a rare comet during the month of October.
