11-year-old Ruby Reynolds and her father discovered part of the largest marine reptile ever found, a giant Ichthyosaur, on a beach in southwest England.
In late May 2020, Ruby Reynolds and her father found fossilized bones of the giant Ichthyosaur Ichthyotitan severnensis, roughly 82 feet long, resembling a whale in key ways.
Ichthyosaurs were once the dominant predators of the oceans, giving birth to live young and fully committing to a life at sea, distinguishing them from land-dwelling reptiles.
