Is Mt St Helens about to blow? Washington state volcano is recharging
Briefly

Most of the earthquakes recorded at Mount St. Helens recently have been less than magnitude 1.0, with the largest at magnitude 2.0 on May 31, 2024.
Seismic activity has been observed around 4.6 miles below the crater floor, indicating magma flow and recharge of the volcano.
'Recharge' events occur when magma enters a reservoir 2.5 to six miles below sea level, pressurizing the magma transport system and causing earthquakes.
While the recent surge in earthquakes at Mount St. Helens is significant, similar sequences have been observed in the past without directly leading to an eruption.
