"It's not like there's a college course you can take on handling birds of prey," she says. Her experience comes from years of dedication and learning on the job.
Rebecca sees falconry as "an equal partnership between human and bird," emphasizing the need to understand their individual personalities and quirks for successful collaboration.
"Birds are just like people," she explains, noting their unique work ethics, strengths, and weaknesses which play a crucial role in falconry.
She insists that when the birds are in the air, "they're a hundred percent in charge," necessitating that the falconer's role is to facilitate their natural behaviors.
