Iceland: 2 missing in ice cave collapse DW 08/26/2024

The incident occurred while a group of 25 people were touring the Breidamerkurjokull glacier along with a guide. Four people got stuck under the ice.
Sudurland police said in a statement: 'Two people have already been rescued from the ice and are seriously injured. The search is still on for the two people trapped in the ice cave.'
Two coast guard helicopters have been dispatched to the scene, as well as ambulances, with officials noting that conditions at the scene of the rescue were extremely difficult.
