"When major fires take out huge areas of open space, their options are limited... My heart is very heavy right now," Pratt expressed, highlighting the dire situation faced by mountain lions.
"The chaparral vegetation, which covers about 10% of California, creates one of the most flammable landscapes in the world," Pratt noted, emphasizing the dangerous conditions for local wildlife.
"Areas that did provide food, shelter, habitat, are being taken out of commission," Pratt remarked, underlining the devastating impact of wildfires on mountain lion habitats.
"Human losses have been devastating... the effects will also ripple through the non-human world," showcasing the interconnectedness of human and animal suffering during natural calamities.
