ESA satellite launches Dutch tech into space to study climate change
Briefly

Dutch tech, particularly from TNO and Airbus Netherlands, has played a key role in EarthCARE's satellite mission, contributing instruments like the Multi Spectral Imager and Hyperjoint technology.
TNO's Multi Spectral Imager, developed in collaboration with Surrey Satellite Technology, captures data on clouds and aerosols through its cameras and detectors to be analyzed by scientists back on Earth.
Airbus Netherlands' contribution includes the unique placement of solar panels at the back of the EarthCARE satellite, giving it a distinctive 'White Dragon' appearance, along with the implementation of a cloud profiling radar.
