Earth's orbit is so crowded that space traffic controllers issue more than 1,000 collision warnings per day

"We're talking about the dead satellites, the rocket bodies, the fairings, the wrenches, the gloves, and things like that that have been left up in orbit," physicist Thomas Berger said in a press briefing.
"It's getting difficult for satellite operators to determine which of these warnings is important and which they have to pay attention to," said Berger.
