Could balloon-like water tanks help fight L.A.'s fires? A new concept is touted as a solution
Briefly

After losing their home to wildfire in Pacific Palisades, Marco Terruzzin proposed an innovative solution using a water-storage system developed by his company, Energy Vault. This technology features inflatable tanks, called Water Trees, that can be strategically placed to provide sufficient water supply for firefighting. Each tank holds 148,000 gallons of water and could ensure hydrants maintain pressure during emergencies. Although this patented system hasn’t been used in firefighting yet, prototypes are being shipped soon for potential implementation in wildfire-prone areas.
"The patented system has not yet been used for firefighting, but Terruzzin and his company soon plan to ship two prototypes from a facility in Texas."
