China's lunar probe is retrieving samples from the far side of the Moon
Briefly

China's Chang'e 6 spacecraft successfully landed on the far side of the Moon for the first time, planning to bring back samples to Earth, including payloads from the European Space Agency, France, and Italy.
Using laser 3D scanning and autonomous avoidance system, the probe navigated obstacles during landing. It will collect samples using a scoop and drill over two days before launching a capsule to return to Earth.
China's previous missions landed on the Moon's close side, which is less challenging due to better communication and smoother terrain, while far side trips face more obstacles.
