PREMIUM North Brooklyn Angels celebrates eight years at 5th annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Luncheon
Briefly

The North Brooklyn Angels, a prominent volunteer-led organization, has dedicated the last eight years to serving its community by providing food, dignity, and essential items. Reflecting on their journey, Chaimberg emphasized the joy and unity fostered by their work. The organization meets vital needs overlooked by municipal aid, evidenced by initiatives like Angel Babies and Little Angels. These programs, initiated to address both food insecurity and essential supplies for infants, have distributed tens of thousands of essential items to families in need, showcasing the Angels' integral role in the community's support network.
"We've raised a lot of good money, but more importantly, we've had a lot of joyful moments and painful moments that brought us closer together," Chaimberg said. "We do better when we show up for something bigger than we are. The North Brooklyn Angels have been showing up in this community day after day for the last eight years. The angels serve more than meals. They serve dignity, humanity and community."
"Most of us take for granted we're going to get three hot meals a day. We don't even think about it... Thankfully, an organization like this fulfills a need that our government, for some reason or another, doesn't see the need to fulfill," Pitta said.
"The [Angel Babies] project started in 2021 after learning from community partners and meal recipients that baby essentials were a consistent need beyond food insecurity," Chiu said.
"In four years, the Angels and its partners have distributed tens of thousands of items including clothing, diapers, toys and books, according to Chiu."
