Following Pope Francis' recent passing, one of his popemobiles is being transformed into a mobile health clinic for children in Gaza. This initiative, entrusted to Caritas Jerusalem, aims to provide crucial medical services amidst the regional health crisis. Peter Brune from Caritas Sweden emphasized the project's significance, stating it represents a message of hope for Gaza's children. The vehicle will be staffed with medical professionals and equipped for various health services, reflecting Francis’ ongoing commitment to advocating for peace and humanitarian aid in the region.
"This is a concrete, life-saving intervention at a time when the health system in Gaza has almost completely collapsed," Peter Brune, Secretary General of Caritas Sweden.
"It's not just a vehicle, it's a message that the world has not forgotten about the children in Gaza," Brune added.
"Children are not numbers. They are faces. Names. Stories. And each one is sacred," said Pope Francis.
Pope Francis had been a vocal advocate of peace in Gaza and condemned the bombing of children in the Palestinian territory.
