The Community College Research Center, led by Thomas Brock, has lost access to over $12 million from four federal grants due to a freeze initiated by the Trump administration. This decision links to grievances regarding Columbia University's response to antisemitism. Brock emphasized that the terminated grants were not ideologically driven and that the funding cuts failed to resolve any of the alleged issues. Furthermore, CCRC had previously faced another setback when the Department of Education canceled contracts alleging "woke" government spending, intensifying the challenges facing the center.
The terminations did nothing to address perceived problems at Columbia, nor did they challenge 'woke' ideology, as our projects were nonideological to begin with.
CCRC had already experienced in February when the Department of Education canceled 10 contracts with Regional Educational Laboratories... saying they were examples of "woke" government spending.
