Every winter, Rob Manfred seems to come out with a new ridiculous idea to change up the game of baseball. This year, it was the Golden At-Bat, a proposal to allow each team to ignore the lineup once per game and send up whomever they want - in theory, allowing every team the opportunity to put their best hitter up with the game on the line every night. To nobody's surprise, the idea was met with much derision, with former Yankee pitcher Jameson Taillon poking fun at the fact that pretty much every suggestion in recent years has been to the detriment of the pitchers.
The Annual New York Yankees & Steinbrenner Family Holiday Concert was a magical celebration today. Children from across the bay were treated to special performances and a festive atmosphere, showcasing the team's commitment to community involvement and holiday cheer.
