Yankees Sign Rob Zastryzny To Minor League Deal
Briefly

The New York Yankees have added left-handed reliever Rob Zastryzny on a minor league contract, inviting him to major league camp. Previously designated for assignment by the Cubs, Zastryzny opted for free agency and subsequently signed with the Yankees. Over his six MLB seasons, he holds a 4.30 ERA and has performed well against left-handed hitters. The Yankees currently have minimal left-handed options in their bullpen, and Zastryzny will compete for a roster spot amid other unsigned veterans.
Zastryzny has fanned 18.2% of his opponents against a 10.5% walk rate. His 44.8% ground-ball rate is only a couple ticks better than average.
With the Yankees' only left-hander in the bullpen currently being Hill, Zastryzny joins fellow veteran Tyler Matzek as a seasoned non-roster invitee in camp.
