Yankees left in disbelief: 'Didn't finish the goal'
""It's tough to describe," Judge said."
""We didn't do your job, didn't finish the goal. We had a special group in here, a lot of special players that made this year fun, but we didn't get the ultimate prize so we came up short.""
Late Wednesday into early Thursday, a sense of disbelief hovered over the New York Yankees as clubhouse attendees packed boxes and teammates exchanged farewells. The Yankees entered the postseason believing the roster was more talented and better equipped for October than the previous year's team. New York's season ended with a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 4 of the ALDS at Yankee Stadium, preventing any advance to the ALCS or World Series and extending a 16-season championship drought, the third longest in franchise history. Toronto had gone 8-5 against New York in the regular season, claimed the tiebreaker at 94-68, and outscored the Yankees 23-8 in the first two games of the series. Aaron Judge lamented the team came up short despite a special group of players.
