Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton, Austin Wells homer in 10th to sink Rays
Briefly

Rookie Cam Schlittler flirted with the fifth perfect game in franchise history and delivered a scoreless outing before Luke Weaver escaped a bases-loaded, two-out jam in the seventh. David Bednar allowed a two-out, two-run double in the ninth to tie the game. Giancarlo Stanton pinch-hit a full-count, 96-mph fastball from Pete Fairbanks for a two-run homer leading off the 10th, giving the Yankees a 6-4 win. Devin Williams worked to close the game. Stanton has 15 homers this season, 11 in his last 22 games, and is 4-for-7 with two pinch-hit homers.
"He's an animal," Aaron Boone said of Stanton.
"He was locked in. Doesn't matter if he hasn't had an at-bat all night, he's going to be ready for his moment, and he came up big for us."
"Every pinch hit's it's own scenario, it's own algorithm. You figure it out. As long as you're prepared and on time...you can do something good."
