The major league-leading New York Yankees signed left-hander Tim Hill following his release from the Chicago White Sox, looking to bolster their bullpen.
Hill, a 34-year-old with a sidearm delivery, had a 5.87 ERA in 27 appearances with the White Sox before being designated for assignment.
The move by the Yankees came after they optioned left-hander Anthony Misiewicz to Triple-A, creating a spot in the bullpen for Tim Hill.
