Yankees 2, Guardians 3: Awful sixth inning squanders lead, secures series loss
Briefly

In an eventful game, Yankees' Will Warren pitched brilliantly, delivering a one-hit shutout for five innings. Aaron Judge contributed with a stellar four hits, and Ben Rice’s home run broke the game's silence, putting New York ahead early. Warren bounced back impressively after a previous outing, showing resilience and skill in the mound. While the Yankees faced challenges and failed to score significantly, key plays and at-bats highlighted their fight, ultimately leading to a satisfying victory. The unpredictability of baseball was a central theme throughout the game.
Unlike his last time out, Warren made it through the second inning. Despite a lackadaisical throw to first from Jazz Chisholm, Jr., that allowed a runner to reach on an error, Warren got back to the dugout with the lead intact and already having one-upped his last mound outing.
I hate getting shut out. Hate it with a fiery passion. Luckily for me, Rice was determined not to let that happen. Back in the starting lineup after two days off to recover from an elbow plunking, Rice crushed a first-pitch fastball.
