Yankees 1, Blue Jays 3: Bats quieted north of the border
Briefly

Normally when a pitcher walks seven batters in five innings, you would expect them to get absolutely crushed... Gil's control was off, leading him to issue a bunch of free passes, but yet, he managed to work out of trouble several times, and generally keep the Blue Jays' damage to a minimum.
...the Yankees' main issue in their 3-1 loss to the Blue Jays was the offense. After a decent start, the New York bats were held in check over the final seven innings dooming them to a series-opening loss in Toronto.
