New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels: Luis Gil vs. Davis Daniel
Briefly

Assuming this doubleheader actually gets underway, Luis Gil will be up first to set the tone. He has rebounded well from that June slipup. Last week against the Phillies was his worst start in a month, allowing three runs in 5.1 innings while walking a trio, in a game the Yankees nevertheless won. In his three starts before that, Gil tossed 17.2 innings, struck out 22 and walked just a pair of batters.
As always, the key for a good Gil start is limiting walks. Being able to locate that new slider within the zone has helped over the last three weeks, and the Angels are in the bottom third of baseball by walk rate. This is a club that will get itself out plenty of times, as long as Gil's stuff is as good as it usually is, he stands a strong chance of a big start today.
The only major Yankees lineup notes are that Aaron Judge will DH with Trent Grisham in center, and that Oswaldo Cabrera is in for Gleyber Torres at the keystone. He will join Giancarlo Stanton and DJ LeMahieu on the bench.
