For a while there, it looked like inclement weather would cancel the much-anticipated 2024 MLB Little League Classic between the Yankees and Tigers, but the weather should hold up long enough to play nine in Williamsport, PA.
Tarik Skubal has seized the mantle as the best starter in baseball in 2024. He has a chance to become the first pitcher since Justin Verlander and Clayton Kershaw in 2011 to achieve the Triple Crown, currently leading the AL in wins (14), ERA (2.53), and strikeouts (180).
Marcus Stroman's last time out, he posted one of his best starts of the summer, holding the Rangers to a run on four hits in five-plus innings. He made a mechanical adjustment to better engage his lower half, gaining velocity and command.
The kids certainly looked excited when the team arrived, and with the special event call-up of Jasson Domínguez, the Yankees will look to inspire a young audience as they compete.
