Gerrit Cole leaves start against Rangers with possible injury
Briefly

On Labor Day, the Yankees turned to ace Gerrit Cole to provide some sanity after some awful days from his teammates on the pitching staff.
Cole delivered, striking out nine Rangers and holding their offense to one run on four hits and a walk in six innings of excellent work.
When Cole came back out to start the seventh though, he seemed to be struggling to find a rhythm in his warmups.
This has all the signs of a calf cramp. Lord, let us hope so because two and a half months without Gerrit Cole at the start of 2024 was more than enough.
