""I've experienced a lot this year," Yesavage said. "This is my fifth team I've been with. I've met the entire organization. But being here in this spot, I couldn't have drawn it up any better.""
""So far I only know a little bit about him, that he's good," New York manager Aaron Boone said. "The split is real. I've heard he's a guy that's kind of unfazed by being up here in big spots.""
""He's outwardly calm and that perception for him, it does a lot for us," Springer said. "You would expect somebody to appear nervous, but he doesn't. That just shows who he is as a player, who he is as a human bei"
Trey Yesavage will start Game 2 of the American League Division Series for the Toronto Blue Jays against the New York Yankees. The 22-year-old right-hander was the No. 20 pick in last year's amateur draft and advanced through four minor-league levels this season before joining Toronto. He went 1-0 in three September starts and set a Blue Jays record with nine strikeouts in his MLB debut. Yesavage is known for an elite split-finger fastball, has limited big-league innings, and has drawn praise for his calmness under pressure.
