Around the Empire: Yankees news - 4/27/24
Briefly

Perhaps the lowest point of a bad 2023 season was a very public showing up of Yankee pitching coach Matt Blake by Carlos Rodón... a microcosm for the disaster season Rodón had, but the left-hander made strides to do right by his coach.
Gerrit Cole continues to recover from arm inflammation, not yet ready to return to the Yankees... expects to be throwing from the mound soon before a rehab assignment for a June return.
Prospect Jasson Domínguez is rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, taking time with his recovery... not expected back in the Yankees until summer, putting the onus on the offense for now.
AL East and NL Central are top divisions in baseball in April, with the Yankees and Brewers showcasing great baseball... both divisions on near-historic paces at the start of the season.
