1999 Yankees Diary, August 13: Pettitte rolls in 14-2 blowout over Twins
Briefly

Record: 71-43 (7.5 GA) Despite the final box score finishing with tons of runs, it wasn't because the scoring was spread out through all nine innings. Instead, it was congested in the middle innings, as the Yankees offense took over while Andy Pettitte dominated.
The two hitters at the top of the order, Chuck Knoblauch and Derek Jeter, both singled to put two on for Paul O'Neill, who smacked a fly ball double and scored both runners. Then, following the double, Bernie Williams strode to the plate and smashed a home run to right field, putting the score at 4-0.
With two outs and seven men already up to the plate, Luis Sojo stepped up and hit the second homer of the inning, this one sent to left field to put the Yankees up 6-0. Pettitte kept the Twins scoreless in the top of the fourth.
