The Future of 'Yellowstone' Is Taking Shape. What Does It Mean For the Duttons?
Briefly

Paramount's mishandling of Yellowstone post-Kevin Costner's departure has prompted dissatisfaction among fans. His abrupt exit led to conflicts disappearing, making the filming experience easier, yet duller. With the season 5 finale signaling a tipping point, Paramount looks to pivot with at least four spin-offs in development, including Y: Marshals featuring Luke Grimes. To be really honest, there was a part of Kevin being gone that meant some of the conflict was gone.
Paramount simply used Costner's exit to kill the king and start again.
