After picking up an early lead, the Rangers allowed the Blues to tie things up and eventually take the lead on the power play as special teams quickly became a problem.
This forced the Rangers to go with 11 forwards and 7 defensemen as Zac Jones was the only other available option to slot in as the 18th skater.
