Whether you like the plan or not, David Stearns has stuck to his word on what strategy he was following this offseason.
The Mets want to gain a better idea of what they have in Brett Baty, DJ Stewart and Mark Vientos. That is easier done if there are DH at-bats available rather than tied up with a J.D. Martinez or Justin Turner.
