Report: Pete Alonso agrees to five-year, $155 million contract with the Baltimore Orioles
"Per ESPN's Jeff Passan, first baseman Pete Alonso and the Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a five-year deal worth $155 million. This is still pending a physical, and it is not known if there are any deferrals or options in the contract. Alonso joins the Orioles after spending seven years with the New York Mets, who drafted the Florida product in the second round of the 2016 MLB Draft."
"Alonso also boasts a strong postseason track record, collecting five home runs and a .278/.429/.574 slash line with a 1.003 OPS across 16 games, spanning back to 2022. One of his most memorable knocks was against the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2024 NL Wild Card, sending the Mets to the NLDS thanks to a three-run blast in the ninth inning off closer Devin Williams."
