Middlesex County Cricket Club has signed South African pacer Dane Paterson for the first seven matches of the 2025 County Championship season. The 35-year-old fast bowler has 19 international caps and a notable domestic record, having taken 180 wickets for Nottinghamshire from 2021 to 2024. Paterson's experience and impressive performance, particularly against Pakistan in December where he achieved his best Test figures, are expected to significantly strengthen Middlesex's pace attack early in the season. He joins other international players like Kane Williamson and Josh Little at the club.
"We are really pleased to get this signing secured as Dane is a player that will bring an enormous amount of quality to our pace attack and is someone that can make a real impact for us in the first half of the season."
"He has proven throughout the four years he spent with Nottinghamshire that he has all the attributes needed to succeed in English conditions, and he brings with him a wealth of experience, built up over many years on both the domestic and international stages."
