Mets cut Jake Diekman amid bullpen makeover

Less than a week after Diekman's notable performance, the Mets released him due to his 5.63 ERA in 43 appearances after being their top lefty reliever.
To replace Diekman, the Mets called up Matt Gage, a 31-year-old rookie with MLB experience and a 3.42 ERA in Triple-A this year, now joining two other lefties in the bullpen.
