Francisco Alvarez back in Mets' camp after hand surgery, hopes to return to lineup in 6-8 weeks
Briefly

Francisco Alvarez has returned to Mets camp following surgery to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left hand, an injury that has him sidelined for the second consecutive season. Although he is frustrated by the setback, he aims to resume hitting in three weeks and rejoin the lineup in six to eight weeks. Alvarez acknowledged the difficulty of losing time and the pressures that come with recovering from injuries while expressing determination to bounce back quickly to help the team. Luis Torrens will fill in during his absence.
