AJ Marcucci, a 25-year-old goalkeeper, is set to make his MLS debut for New York Red Bulls after a long journey from the collegiate level to professional soccer. Selected 67th overall in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft, Marcucci has excelled in the club's system, making 54 appearances for Red Bulls II, including 11 clean sheets. After a five-year wait, his opportunity arrives as he prepares to face Toronto FC. A loan stint in Finland provided him with consistent playing time and experience, ultimately aiding his development as a key player for the Red Bulls.
AJ Marcucci has been forced to ride the bus, as most professional athletes must do, a little longer than most in his journey to the top flight of American soccer.

It was really good because the guys trusted me from the first game to the last, Marcucci said. It was a ton of fun to just play almost the same way the Red Bulls play.
The No. 67 overall selection of the 2021 MLS SuperDraft out of Connecticut College had made 54 appearances with Red Bulls II and recorded 11 clean sheets.
