Bud Harrelson, scrappy Mets shortstop who once fought Pete Rose, dies at 79
Briefly

The Mets said Thursday that Harrelson died at a hospice house in East Northport, New York after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
He called his decades of work with the Long Island Ducks, a minor league team that he helped start and run, his greatest achievement in baseball.
In one of the most famous moments in baseball history, Harrelson famously waved home the winning run on Bill Buckner's error in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series against the Boston Red Sox.
