"Anunoby practiced again on Saturday, and provided further hope that he will be good to go by saying that the issue is not as bad as the hamstring injury he suffered two years ago. Anunoby hurt his left hamstring in Game 2 of the 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals against the Indiana Pacers. He missed the next four games and was still clearly hobbled while lasting just five minutes in Game 7."
"He picked up this injury late in the Knicks' Game 2 victory at Madison Square Garden over the Sixers on May 6 and missed the final two games of the series. He got back to practice earlier this week and was a full participant on Friday and Saturday. The Knicks' ability to dominate Philadelphia certainly helped soften the blow of losing one of their top all-around players this postseason."
"But with over a week off between games while the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers slugged it out for the other spot in the conference final, the prospect of missing just those two games is as best-case a scenario as possible given the time of year. He's been back, and he looks good to me, guard Mikal Bridges told reporters. So I think maybe the crowd, maybe the fans and media worried a little bit more, but I know how OG works and how his body is."
"Anunoby had averaged 21.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game in the playoffs, while shooting 61.9% from the field and 53.8% from three-point range. But with over a week off between games while the Detroit Pistons and Cleveland Cavaliers slugged it out for the other spot in the conference final, the prospect of missing just those two games is as best-case a scenario as possible given the time of year."
OG Anunoby practiced again after suffering a right hamstring injury during the Knicks’ second-round sweep of the Philadelphia 76ers. He said the current issue is not as bad as a hamstring injury he suffered two years ago and described improving day by day. He picked up the injury late in Game 2 on May 6 and missed the final two games of the series. Earlier this week he returned to practice, becoming a full participant on Friday and Saturday. The Knicks’ playoff production from Anunoby included strong scoring, rebounding, steals, blocks, and efficient shooting. With extra time between series, missing only two games is viewed as a best-case outcome.
