For the first time in a long time, there are going to be cap implications in the Knicks' moves this offseason beyond cap space. They are very likely a luxury tax team, they are going to have a hard time staying below the first apron, and things could careen themselves towards the vaunted second apron if things break a certain way.
The Knicks, assuming the rumors of guaranteeing Bojan Bogdanovic's full salary are correct, currently sit with $114 million in active salary. Now, that does not mean they have $27m in cap space, as they are operating as an over-the-cap team due to the cap holds on Alec Burks, Precious Achiuwa, Hartenstein, and Anunoby.
