Celtics 132, Knicks 109: Scenes from an opening night Boston beatdown
Briefly

It's been 155 days since the New York Knicks ran out of gas in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, and things look a bit different since then. Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Isaiah Hartenstein are out of town. Mikal Bridges and Karl Anthony Towns have slotted into the starting lineup in their place. The expectation is that the Knicks can compete for a championship this year, and after a tumultuous offseason, fans were eager to see how the roster changes translated onto the court.
The Celtics ended the first half with 74 points. On the offensive end of things, things weren't actually that bad. The Knicks shot above 50% from the field. Brunson shot 6/6 from the field for 15 points. Miles McBride offered a strong offensive punch off the bench, too. But all you need to know about the opening half is that the Knicks could not get a defensive stop to save their lives.
