Police Are Searching Landfill for Missing Boy, 11, with Autism. His Mom Denied He Was Her Child: Police
"Authorities in upstate New York have joined the search for an 11-year-old Brooklyn boy with autism who hasn't been seen in more than a week. The New York City Police Department released a sketch of Jacob Pritchett last week, according to WABC. The outlet reported that authorities had gone to the boy's mother's Brooklyn apartment on Sept. 25 to conduct a wellness check. Jacob, who is reportedly nonverbal, was not found."
"While being questioned, the boy's mother allegedly said she didn't have a child, police said, according to WABC, News 12 and WHAM. WABC reported that investigators later found the boy's birth certificate in the apartment listing the woman as Jacob's mother. The mother was taken to the hospital for evaluation but has not presently been charged with a crime. Authorities subsequently searched a landfill in Perinton, N.Y., near Rochester, according to News 10."
