The Halifax, NS native signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Islanders this summer, reporting to Bridgeport after camp, recording four assists through as many games sthis season. Highmore played 23 games with the Ottawa Senators last season, finishing the year with two goals and eight assists."
Marc Gatcomb cleared waivers and Alexander Romanov was placed on injured reserve, prompting roster movement. Shortly after the 2:00 p.m. waiver-claim deadline, the Islanders recalled defenseman Marshall Warren and forward Matthew Highmore from Bridgeport. Warren, 24, signed as a college free agent after NCAA careers at Boston College and the University of Michigan, recorded 17 points in 53 AHL games last season and has two goals and three assists in his first four AHL games this season. Highmore, 29, signed a one-year, two-way deal, had four assists in four Bridgeport games and played 23 games with Ottawa last season. Neither player was in the lineup against Detroit but both could debut soon.
